Information about our contests

We hold two different contest every year. First being the High School Oratory Contest.  Second, is the Precious Baby Contest, held during the Sanilac County 4-H Fair .


This contest is open to 9th - 12th grade students who are enrolled in a Sanilac County school or are home-schooled and live in Sanilac County.

Students are required to prepare a 5-7 minute pro-life speech on one of the topics listed:  abortion, infanticide, euthanasia or human cloning/embryo research.  Students will give their speech in front of a panel of judges where they will be scored.  

Prizes are as follows for the top 3:

1st place - $300; 2nd place - $200; and 3rd place - $100.  

The first place winner will move on to the state competition in Lansing in May, which offers prizes as well.

The contest will be held on Monday, March 4, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at a location to be announced shortly.

precious baby contest

Every year we hold our Precious Baby Contest at the Sanilac County 4-H Fair.

Entries must be RECEIVED BY:

AUGUST 5, 2017

The contest is open to babies under the age of 24 months. Cash prizes are awarded for First through Fourth places.

First: $150

Second: $75

Third: $50

Fourth: $25

RULES: The baby must have been born between the dates of July 31, 2015 and July 31, 2017. One entry per child; one child in a photo, with an exception for multiple births. Multiples will be entered as one entry.  By entering this contest I agree to the use of the photo in a fundraiser at the Sanilac County 4-H Fair as well as a press release. I agree to the use of all information provided. The 4-H Fairboard is not responsible for this contest. Right to Life of Sanilac County is the sponsor of this contest. Winners will be notified after the conclusion of the fair. Therefore a valid telephone number and current address must be provided. No entries will be accepted via email. Not responsible for lost, late, damaged or misdirected mail. For questions, please call Right to Life of Sanilac County at 810-376-8454.

Remember photos/entries will NOT be accepted via email.  You MUST mail in your entry form with your photo! Please allow several days for the mail. It has been slower than usual this year!

annual Focus on life benefit dinner

Our Annual Right to Life of Michigan Benefit Dinner will be held on, Thursday, March 23rd.  It will be held at a NEW location this year; Countryside Free Methodist Church inside the Family Center located at 912 W. Sanilac Road in Sandusky, MI. Doors will open at 6:00 p.m., with the Dinner and Program beginning at 7:00 p.m. Please mark this date on your calendar.

Our special guest speaker for the evening will be Ed Rivet.  Ed has been the Legislative Director for Right to Life of Michigan for 28 years. He has worked to assist the passage of laws requiring parental consent and informed consent for abortion, protecting patients’ rights and the assisted suicide ban. Ed was a driving force behind Michigan’s cloning ban in 1998, the first of its kind in the nation. He is also the principal author of the 2004 Legal Birth Definition Act to ban partial-birth abortion in Michigan.

You will not want to miss this opportunity to hear words of wisdom from this truly remarkable man.

95 W. Speaker Street in Sandusky. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted above.
